The House of the Lord

I don't think I've seen a day where I haven't thought of the Temple. It's beauty and sacred nature draws and inspires me. It is truly the House of the Lord. There is a safety and protection offered in that sacred home that is unparalleled in this modern world. Since the early 1800's the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been a Temple building church, but why?

President Thomas S. Monson has said, "The world can be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified" (lds.org).

The Temple is a house of God- a place where families are united eternally, individuals are taught and improved, and the love of God is ever present. I testify that it is only through the sacred covenants made in these holy edifices that we will be able and prepared to return to our Father in Heaven- prepared to stand before His face- perfected, worthy children of a King.
